Do U/S ever show a SMALL baby? - Page 2

My babes were taken by c section at 37 weeks because baby B was so disparately smaller than A (even though we had "safe" di/di twins.) We were told from the ultrasound that he was over 5 lbs, and he was born at 4 lbs 10 oz. We are so glad they were watching us closely, as with twins, the fundal height measure can be misleading, since you can be growing fine, but their individual sizes might be disproportional.

I know one woman whose baby was measuring small through the pregnancy and was born at 35 weeks weighing 4lbs, which is about a pound smaller than average for that age.

I heard a good story at our home birth support meeting yesterday about a woman whose baby was measuring "small for dates" and was born at 40 weeks weighing 7lbs 14oz. Not small at all.
