Timing of DT Only?

We've been doing selective vax for DS (6 months old). Thus far he's only received two DTaP shots and two each of HIB/Prevnar. No HepB (will delay until school age), no rotovirus, no flu, no polio yet, will delay varicella until at least 5 and try to get it naturally, etc).

Anyway, after his 2nd DTaP shot (given alone) at 5 months, we noticed DS doing a weird head tremor thing for a few days. Not entirely sure it was related to the shot but even our Ped agreed it was oddly coincidental and not worth the risk and doesn't want to give any more "P" shots for him - doing DT only now he said.

But my concern/question is that doesn't the DT only shot have mercury/thimerisol, whereas the DTaP doesn't? How concerned about this should I be? Has anyone found mercury free pediatric DT only? If not, should I wait until DS is at least one year before any DT only shots?

TIA!

FYI - upon further research have found this - looks like there IS a version of Pediatric DT without thimerisol (or at least with trace amounts only). Will look further into this: http://onibasu.com/archives/am/94498.html

I'm so sorry, I'm sure that was frightful. I'm curiouse how the dr pinpointed P as the culprit, and not the other ones?
For me, with the head shaking, I wouldn't give another dtap or dt at all. Some things I'd ask myself would be-was it siezure like and exactly what in the vaccine could have caused it? What are the risks to no longer recieve any portion of the vaccine? How long as the pediatric version been available, side effects, adverse reactions etc.
Delaying/selective forum might have some more answers for you?
