Bamboo fitted diapers??

Thread Starter
I am trying to stash diapers while I can, but there is SO much to learn and SO many products. I clothed with my dd for about 6 months, but didn't start till she was 4 months, and used all bumgenius AIO and fuzzibunz.

I am now buying a few bamboo bumgenius cause they look so soft But my question is, do I have to use a cover all the time? How absorbent are they without, if we were justa round the house?? Even if we were out for a bit??

Also, what covers would you suggest if I do have to use one with these dipees?

TIA!!

I don't have the bg fitteds, but just for fitteds in general, I go coverless under fleece jammies or use fleece longies at home. I do this even with my thinnest fitteds. For more absorbent fitteds, I'm sure they would be just fine coverless with nothing over it (with baby legs, perhaps), as long as you checked often so pee didn't wick through onto whatever they are sitting on.

Other than that, I really doubt I'd want to try even the most absorbent fitted coverless under cotton pants, kwim?

From what I've read, you wouldn't want to use only a fleece cover over a fitted for when dc is in the car seat- the compression will wick the wetness onto the car seat. I'd think the same would apply in carriers and such unless you aim to change wet diapers right away.

Bamboo will absorb more than cotton and microfleece, but it will soak thru. whatever it absorbs "spreads" all around the fabric until it is saturated. We go coverless at home and use wool when we go out. Wool is great too

I am buying some of those fitteds, too, for our new lo I bought three Aristocrats wool covers that have been felted down to nb size, so I am buying the fitteds specifically to go under those.

We have a variety of covers here: Bummis Super Brites wraps, Bummis Super Whisper Pants pull-on covers, wool covers made from old sweaters, and Aristocrats wool covers. Pretty much all covers work about the same, it is about finding a brand/style that you like and that fits your baby well.

Just a quick FYI. bumGenius is discontinuing its bamboo fitteds. So, if it is a diaper you really want, I would get it as quickly as possible. Most stores have it on sale at this point trying to clear out their stock.

bg bamboo fitteds are on sale at cottonbabies.com for 7.77 with free ship. I stocked up! I love these dipes fore size xs and s, but after size s I didnt feel they were absorbant enough and moved to piddle poodles and goodmamas. I always use fitteds under wool but on small babies i use fitteds under imse vimse organic covers.

The BG bamboo fitteds are really absorbant in my experience! I love them! I don't have too many of them because of drying time though. Otherwise, I would have tons.
