Two month BF check-in. Does this sound right? (x-posted)

Nora is 10 weeks tomorrow and it seems that she is definitely going longer between feedings (probably three hours and she'll even stretch to four). She's still only eating actively for about 10-15 minutes per feeding though. I just sort of let her hang out for 30-45 minutes and she'll suck here and there, but usually she'll end up spitting up a lot afterwards.

She has a bunch of wet/poopy diapers so her output is good. She doesn't seem overly fussy during or right after feedings. She's gotten pretty relaxed actually and even when she IS hungry, she'll just sort of "whine" and doesn't scream or anything. At almost 8 weeks old, she weighed 10lb, 6oz (7.12 at birth) and the midwife was fine with that. She's definitely grown since then too.

So I guess I just want to make sure that it's okay that she's only really eating for 15 minutes per feeding, but going longer in between feedings. I'm pretty sure my let-down is pretty good since it seems to come pouring out pretty quickly even when I'm pumping. Is it just that she gets a lot right away and doesn't need more? My first dd used to eat for 30-40 minutes at a time...

If you have a strong let down, 10 minutes may be all she needs to fill her tummy, vs a mama whose let down isn't strong, and babe may have to work at it for 30 minutes.

My little guy eats about every 3 hours during the day, and longer at night... he's on breastmilk, but not from the tap. I think it takes him about 15-20 minutes to eat 4 oz when he has to work at it.

If she's gaining weight, I'd follow her cues.

Babies get a lot more efficient at getting the milk out as they get older. So, yes, normal! As long as she is peeing and pooping fine she is doing great! Just enjoy having more time!

My LO nurses for 5-10 every 2 hours, so 10-15 is long to me. Sounds like she is doing fine.

Sophia is 11 weeks yesterday, nurses 7-10 minutes every 3 hours. She was born at 9lb but 8 by the time we left the hospital and is now over 15lbs. I know she is growing so I just don't worry about it. By now she knows if she is hungry and knows how to get it, and if I don't pay attention she will eventually scream at me!

I use to worry (lol use to, as in a couple weeks ago...so long ago, that is funny sorry...what was I saying, ah yes) I use to worry, people would say oh their child nursed 10-15 minutes each side! Geez she gets 7-10 on one and then is done. I can try to put her back on but she couldn't be bothered. So I figure they are all different, each babe sets their norm and that is what you worry about. So if tomorrow she nurses for 3 minutes ever 5 hours...I would worry!
