Like, to brighten up my color in between full applications?
Normally, I put my henna to cure in lemon juice overnight, then add enough water to make it spreadable in the morning, spend an hour or so applying it thoroughly, put on a cap and leave it in six hours, then spend about another hour rinsing it out. You can imagine I don't want to do this too too often! Sometimes I feel like the red is dulling a bit and I just want to do something a little bit. I was thinking of curing some henna and cassia, a way smaller amount than usual, and then adding it to a bunch of conditioner, slopping it all over my hair and leaving it in about an hour before rinsing.
Thoughts?
Would the conditioner make the henna not transfer at all?
I'm thinking of all the shampoos and conditioners I've seen that purport to bring out red highlights because they contain henna extract. I'm not sure how they could really work to put any color in the hair without staining your hands and skin, too. But, it does seem that if conditioner negated the effect of henna then they wouldn't make those at all, so therefore perhaps my idea will work.
Thanks for any BTDT!
