There is a very good possibility we have Chicken Pox! DS has had two kids in his daycare have CP, one came down with it Feb 5-8ish and the other came down with it Feb 19-22ish. He has some small spots on his body, not yet looking like CP, but the same thing happened when DD had it. He has also had the runny nose and looks flushed and is cranky. Thought I would give a 'heads up' to see if anyone is interested in coming over if we do have it, since we seem to have two great chances for having caught it! We live in Kingston, NH which is 20min north of Haverhill, MA.

wansn't really planning on him getting this now, but can't be helped. I guess this means he may get it again later as I am still breastfeeding! (DS is 6mths and DD is 2 1/2yrs, so DD will be happy to play with anyone)

I would def love to come up if you think it might be CP. I have 3 kids from 18mos to 4yrs -- does anyone have any advice for syblings getting CP all at once? i had read that it can make it worse but don't really know what else to do...Any advice anyway - in general about CP?

Yes, please let us know. We would definitely love to get it. I have 3 as well, from 17m-almost 5. We're facing the possibility of having to send my oldest to Kindergarten this year, and I'd love to expose him rather than immunize him for school. Thanks!

Hi Everyone. Not showing the big spots yet, just the same small ones that go away. The same thing happened when DD got CP last year. I was looking through my posts from around that time and it seems like for 6 days before she had the outbreak she would get little pimples that then disappeared. Very strange and we were not sure if she was getting CP or not. Then one morning she woke up with quite a few. The same pattern seems to be happening with DS. Maybe we just really fight hard before we succumb?! DD broke out with CP on day 19 after exposure. DS is on day 22-ish.

ebferris: I think it can be bad if all three do not get CP at the same time, but if they catch it from one another because they are exposed to the CP for a long duration before coming down with it themselves. I think if they all get it in the same 'batch', they are fine. Although you might not be

I have all the tools we need to pass it on while people are here already from when DD had it. Whistles, slide whistles, harmonicas and pacifiers. I think DS is a little young for lollipops though, although I wouldn't mind trying a few. I will update tomorrow morning if he has them. (As I will be taking the day off work, I can do that) If not there is exposure #2 that he is about 12 days into

4th time a charm?

Some of you may know that I have taken my son to 3 pox parties and he never got it...we did his titers and he has not had them, we guessed it never worked because we were still breastfeeding.

Well we have not breastfed since October and yesterday my friend and daycare provider called to tell me her 13 y/o daughter had the shingles. The outbreak was, shall we say, fresh...poor thing!

On my way to pick up my son I stopped and got some candy. I had to convince her to do it as she did not want to make him sick, so sweet. Anyway I went to collect him and they shared some licorice. Then I asked her for the gum she had been chewing on...you should have seen the look on her face...priceless. So we taught Tobias how to chew gum yesterday!

Anyway, I will let you know if it works and if so we can have a party on the southcoast of MA. Wish us luck!

Still waiting to see what happens. He has had suspicious bumps/blisters appear and go away all week, but nothing sticking yet. We are now at day 17-ish of the "second child" exposure. What I'm hoping is they hold off until after I have a bunch of friends over on Saturday, so Murphy's Law says he will get it tomorrow! Will post when spots show! If you want to PM me with numbers, I can just call you if it happens instead of hoping you'll catch the post
