Anyone Have Chicken Pox? - Page 11

Any chance you would overnight me a few well-licked lollipops if I gave you my fedex account number? My 5 year old daughter has been exposed twice - nothing both times -- and we're anxiously trying to get another chance.

Her preschool sent a note home last week saying she needed the varicella vaccine and to get it immediately. Spoke with the director and she accepted my "religious" refusal, but next fall it's public school kindergarten, and I'd really like to prove natural immunization by then just to make things a bit easier. Though that's not really the point. I'll get the exemption one way or another. I just want to get it over with before she's 6.

If you'd be willing to fedex, let me know!

I know I'm probably just getting my hopes up but... we are day 14 since exposure and my DS has some tiny red bumps/blisters that I noticed at bath time on his stomach, back and thighes. Here is hoping when he wakes up there will be more and they will be more like chicken poxes and less like random bumps! Hopefully we will be hosting some parties soon :)

Here's hoping for Kingston!!!  I think I spoke to you a few years ago when you had them and for some reason we couldn't make it down.  No reasons this year, this will be my last attempt with DS #3.

Please, please, please!

I'm the one who started this thread. My son is now 4 and he still hasn't gotten it! He's been exposed 3 times, but I haven't had a chance to expose him since he stopped nursing.

Hoping someone out there might have some to share soon.

My 4 year old's best friend at preschool has pox.  I exposed both my sons this week (the boy's mother thinks I have lost my marbles:). However, they have both had the first varicella (I did not know any better back then:) as did the friend who has it.  I live on Cape Cod & will share should they contract it.

Cape Cod is a bit far for me, but might you be willing to overnight some pre-licked lollipops?  I've heard of folks trying that, though I'm not sure if it works.  But I'm willing to give it a shot!

Cape Cod is a little far from us too, however if you happened to get it and the timing was right, we might make the long drive down. Either that or we would also request some well licked pops :)

I haven't written for a while, but would love, love, LOVE to expose my kids for the third and hopefully final time.  We split our time between Rehoboth (just outside Providence) and the Cape.  Any chance anyone has something to share???!!!  I have a six year old and a three year old and it would be great to get this overwith before the summer sun sets in.  Thanks!

We are at the 14 day point and so far, no signs of pox (except for irritability which unfortunately appears to be a personality trait:)

My fingers are crossed for you and we also have one with that personality trait! I so wish sometimes I could just blame it on coming down with chicken pox :) Please let me know if you get CP, as we would love to visit!

I had titer tests done on my kids last Friday (they have each had one varicella but I declined the second)  My 9 year old has antibodies but my just turned 5 year old does not.  He has been VERY cranky the last couple of days but with no other symptoms and Tuesday will be 21 days.

My 5 year old also does not have antibodies to measles. Bummer, was hoping to use that for school to get out of the 2nd MMR (he has has the first MMR) and to avoid him having to be excluded should someone else at school get measles.  Also, I understand that unvaccinated kids should have the immune system to fight it off unscathed but don't know about my kiddos immune system as he has had everything except the boosters done around 4-5.  Any opinions would be appreciated!

Just met with the doctor to review the titer lab work-the nurse was wrong-he does not have antibodies to mumps (or pox) but does to measles.  I am much less concerned about mumps.  He is irritable and yawning again today-I'm saying a prayer for pox!

You are such a sweetheart for keeping us posted.  Thank you.

For what it's worth, I am thinking thoughts of obvious, but gentle pox for you!!  Let's get it and get it over with!!!

Best of luck. :)
