So I haven't had regular dental care since I was sixteen (that's over sixteen years ago)
. I had an appointment this Saturday, since I am finally covered under dh's insurance. I am scheduled for root planing/deep cleaning and have six cavities that need filling, none of them show up on the x-rays, so hopefully they're pretty superficial.
I am concerned about the plastic compounds in composites, specifically BPA, Bis-GMA and Bis-DMA. My dentist was rather taken aback that I was even asking the brand name of the composite that he uses (something that starts with a P, I forgot the full name), and will probably be shocked when I ask for the MSDS on the stuff. Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations for specific composites that are less toxic? I've read through pages of stuff online and there don't seem to be any clear answers. I would love some BTDT insight.
Thank you.
Also, I do take CLO and a vit. D supplement, cook with homemade stock/bone broth, and have a decent diet, I don't know that I can commit to more dietary efforts, although I'm not averse to delaying the fillings for a while.
