Egg sub. for cornbread- hurry...dinner is soon

I want to make a cornbread to go with dinner tonight. Only thing is I used up all my eggs earlier for lunch. I know you can use a tbsp. of mayo as an egg sub. Does Miracle Whip count (shh....we like it and mayo is nasty )? If not (I'm assuming not) what can I use?

Probably not in time here, but an egg in cornbread acts as some leavening/binding. If you dn't have an egg for quick bread type things use 1/4 liquid or applesauce and a pinch extra baking powder. You also need to add about 1 tblsp fat to make up for the fat in the egg yolk if the recipe doesn't have any or very little oil in it. If there is already some fat in the recipe you can just go with the 1/4 cup liquid, otherwise 3 tblsp plus 1 tblsp oil plush pinch baking powder

I found a recipe that was eggless and pretty good. I'll have to remember that about the applesauce!
