Where does the free sophie go?

I ordered a gift magazine sub that was supposed to come with the free sophie giraffe (also renewed mine). I got my sophie today, and I was wondering if the gift subscription got one too? If so, will it be shipped to me or to the person? Will there be any explanation about who it's from or anything? Thanks!

We didn't know this so georgia contacted the office.

For the free sophie premium, as with any sub premium we do, the premium is
sent to the person who orders the sub, not the gift recipient. For them to
keep, or give as a gift. And we only always send one. If they bought 3 gift
subs they would get one premium still to their address, as it is a gift to
the person who buys the sub. Make sense?

I ordered a sub for a friend over a year ago and they sent the free book to her, not me. I was bummed because I had been looking forward to it; she was excited about it though so I never followed up on it. I wonder if it was a one-time mistake then since it sounds like they are sending the gift to the person ordering as I had understood at the time.
