Homeschool Choral Festival!

OK, tell me I'm crazy.

I want to do a homeschool choral festival in the fall.

My plan is to
1. get our church's permission to host it
2. contact a required choir director I know and see if she'll guest conduct for free
3. contact all the homeschool lists
4. charge for the music, plus maybe $10 over, half to go to the church and half as a sort of stipend for the director
5. open it up, no auditions, I'm thinking 7th through 12th
6. pick all SAB music
7. plan on rehearsing all day on a Friday, including having enough grown ups to break into sectionals
8. rehearse Saturday morning
9. do the concert Saturday afternoon

Anyway... does this sound doable? Do you think people would even be interested? I really want to do this.

I think it sounds great! If I lived nearby, I'd participate for sure.

There is something like that for adults in my area at Christmas time. It's "Come Sing Messiah". You bring your own score, pay $10 and rehearse at 6pm, perform at 8pm. One year when I don't have an EBF baby and I remember in time, I'll participate.

That sounds great!! Definitely contract the conductor early. I'm sure that person would have ideas on how the weekend could go.
