I teach middle school and instead of doing a straight Secret Santa we want the kids to exchange names and then on the day before vacation do a craft all together that is made for the person each kid drew. There are 21 kids in the group. Last year we had a snow day and didn't get to do it, but we were planning on making little soaps. The kids were going to bring in little things to embed in the soap and color and scent them. After we didn't get to do it, I was relieved--I realized that probably would have been a hectic mess to do during a half day with all the other craziness going on. I've been thinking about making Scrabble pendants that they could put any image on and make into a necklace, keychain, or pin. But the other middle school teacher doesn't think we can pull that off in the time we have. I think it would be a piece of cake, but I'm the crafty one, not her!
