Welcome girls

Quick note, but will give a longer story later:

I went into labor again on Sunday, which coincidentally was my birthday. After a few rounds of heavy drugs, it was decided that I should deliver.

Tzelia Devorah and Meorah Linit were born at 6:30 pm on Monday Dec 7. 30 weeks and 1 day. The day after my 32nd birthday.

Both are doing fine and in the NICU. Meorah is on a vent, but it looks like she'll be taken off tomorrow. Tzelia is just on a cpap, and even that isn't necessary: its just for precautions right now. More tests to come tomorrow. Tzelia is 2 lbs 14 oz and Meorah is 3 lbs 1 oz.

Will update more as I know more. It was quite a pregnancy, and just hoping that the next few months go smoothly.

Oh my goodness!!! I have been thinking of you, and anxiously await the whole story. Until then--congratulations on your baby girls! Happy birthday to you and to the two little ones. I am sure their beauty matches the gorgeous names you gave them. It sounds like they are both doing so well--I wish you all strength so everyone can go home from the hospital as soon as possible. Continued well wishes for a safe and healthy homecoming as soon as possible!!!

WOOT!!! THat is wonderful news. Mazel tov! May they bring you nachas and be raised to Torah, Mitzvot and CHUPAH!!!! May your whole family be blessed.

Now, are the names about shadow and light...or is Tzelia for the tree (sorry, both sound the same to me when spoken so I actually need to look them up to see). Either way, how cool! They TOTALLY couldn't wait until Chanukah!

SIMEN TOV OOOH'MAZEL TOV!!!

And R"S to everyone (and all body parts) tht need it!

Happy Birthday girls, and happy birthday Zevy. Glad to hear they are doing so well and I hope you are too. I wish you all a speedy recovery and hope you can all be home sooner rather than later.
Love their names! I'd like to hear more about the names if and when you can.

Thank you, ladies.

Tzelia does mean 'shadow' and is actually named after my husband's grandmother: Celia. Devorah is her middle name, and is named after his other grandmother.

Meorah does mean 'light', or 'enlightenment'. If anything, this pregnancy has afforded me a great blessing of learning a lot about myself and growing as a woman and person. It has been quite challenging. Which is why I thought 'enlightenment' was appropriate. The 'light' aspect is also a play on Channukah...this pregnancy could have ended at 20 weeks when I was put on bed rest...instead it last until 30 weeks, which is a play on the parable of the menorah at Hannukah. Her middle name is Linit, which means 'to rest'. Also appropriate.

Both continue to do well. I hooked myself up to the breast pump this morning, and while they are being fed via IV, we hope they will move to an NG tube and they can be given colostrum and breast milk.

Unfortunately because of the flu paranoia, the only people allowed to see them in the NICU are my husband and myself. Their grandparents will still come visit me, but won't be able to see them. I find that heart breaking, but unfortunately there isn't anything I can do about that.

I will continue to read/post here since you are my DDC. I'll keep you all updated and hope you are all similarly blessed BUT MUCH CLOSER TO FEB!!!
