Nursing strike?

So my baby is 3.5 months old and came down with her first cold last Thursday. Her nose is stuffy so she was having some trouble with breathing while breastfeeding, but we'd clean her nose good and sit by the humidifier and she did okay. I worked on Friday and she got bottles of pumped breastmilk from my dh, though she was super fussy. Saturday she refused to nurse, I took her into the dr. and they said it looked like she was starting to get an ear infection on one side and gave us amoxicillin. I pumped and gave her bottles all day Saturday because I thought maybe she was refusing to nurse because it hurt her ear to have to suck so hard at the breast. But now, it's Tuesday and she still is refusing to breastfeed! When I try to put her to breast she just turns her head, and if I keep trying she starts crying. I've gotten get to start nursing a couple times if I get her still partly asleep, but then when the milk lets down she closes her mouth and turns her head away.
Any idea whats going on?
Do you think it's a strike, or do you think her ear is still hurting?
I don't understand why she'd want to stop just as the milk lets down.
Her nose is still a little stuffy, but she's happier throughout the day for the most part than she was Friday/Saturday.
It's so frustrating and I hate pumping then giving her the bottle, especially at 2am!

This sounds kind of funny, but have you tried nursing her with her on your lap upright facing you? It is kind of an awkward position, but if she is all mucusy and it isn't draining down her thoat, it might be making it more uncomfortable to nurse. Her thoat might hurt a little, too, which might be why she turns away as the milk lets down since it could be painful for her to swallow. I hope she feels better soon and just keep offering the boob as much as you can. Good luck!

Well finally after 4 days I've gotten her to nurse today, no more bottles! I just refused today, when she'd start crying and throwing a fit at the breast, I just stood up and got her calmed down then tried again. After 3 or 4 times of this she'd give and start nursing. I'm still nervous every time I go to feed her, but I think it's getting better! Uggh, I hope I can laugh about this while I'm sitting nursing her on her second birthday!

I'm glad things are back on track. You are a good, patient mom!
