38+2 & dh is travelling for work

Can I just whine a little bit?

DH had no choice but to travel for work this week. He left this morning and will be back Thursday morning so it's only a few days. But, I'm so tired, can't bend over, tons of bh, and don't want to have to take care of this house or dd while dh is gone. I want some help! My dad asked if I wanted him to come down for a couple of days but I would just feel like I have to take care of him if he did so I said no thanks.
So, I'm here alone for a few days and I just don't want to be.

*insert me stomping my feet like a 3yo*

I hear you!
I have a scheduled c section on Thursday and my husband has work, doctor's appointments and 3 hour physical trainings. I was in tears last night because my hubby was gone all day and had a planned training at night and I really need to rest instead of taking care of homeschooling and all 4 kids. C-sections are WAYYYYY worse than natural births imo when it comes to recovery. I need to rest and think a little.
Granted, I've birthed 3 kids without him there for the 'prep' time or recovery, but he's in the states now....
He tries but I don't think he understands how much I need to rest and kinda be taken care of.
I try to explain to him that childbirth is really physically and emotionally exhausting. I've done this to myself honestly because I take on a lot and complain very little considering all that i do. I suppose it's hard to understand that I'm not able to function at such a high level right now when I've done it before.
I am actually looking forward to alone time in the hospital and having people wait on me!

DD crashing ...

My dh was in Israel when I was about 38 weeks last time. I sat on my butt the whole time he was gone! I did not want to go into labor while he was away.

My suggestion is that you rest and drink lots of water. Eat take out and cold cereal on paper plates and totally take advantage of any help you can get w/dd or housework.

Had to run to the store for essentials before winter storm hits tomorrow but I have no further plans for the day. lol
I have two more meals to go into the freezer but they're super easy so I'm hoping to accomplish that tonight after dd is in bed. That'll give me several hours of relaxation before I have to get started on that. Dinner will be pizza with pre made crust and sauce.
The only tasks I have planned for tomorrow are laundry (small loads, just to keep up with it in case of labor) and make clay for dd so she can make dh a gift for Christmas while he's gone.

I'm still feeling rather whiny but a little better after getting some fresh air.

I've been really reluctant for DH to go anywhere without me... so I know it must be kind of freaky to be without him.

Hang in there!

DH travels more days of the year than he's home so I'm used to his being gone, actually enjoy the time alone from time to time.
This is just cutting it a bit close and I'm so tired and HUGE that I didn't want to do the next few days alone.
Thanks for commiserating with my ladies. It might not be making things any better but I do feel less alone.

Do you have any friends or neighbors that could stop by and help you out for a few hours a day?

I do have friends that coule come by but they all either have children of their own or work during the day so they would want to come by during the evening and that's when I want to be left alone.
