Moms of 4+ kids - Page 2

I have 5 with #6 due in May. I think we will probably still have more. We have always told everyone that we wanted 8, so I think that saves us from a lot of the negativity from family and friends at least. They are just used to it and know to expect another little one.

I agree 100% with what momo7 said...the love and selflessness can just be so abundant. My favorite thing about having a large family is watching my older children completely dote on their younger brothers and sisters. They love them so much, and would do anything for them.

It is getting easier now that my older kids are a little older. We are able to leave them for short times with the oldest, so I can shop or dh and I can go out without having to take the entire crew with us. That helps a lot.

The biggest pet peeve I have is getting the "your hands sure are full" comments. It is just so irritating because I hear it all the freakin time. I usually try to be nice and smile and just say "better full than empty" and move on.

We just had our fourth and would love to have more.

I have 4 kids. I thought I wanted more, but now I'm content with the children I have. Although I enjoy spending time with my kids, I'm also really enjoying the fact that my kids are becoming more independent and giving me more free time.

I have 4 (2 girls and 2 boys). I am thinking about #5 but DH says he's done so I guess we're done. I love, love, love having a largish family. The comments do get a little annoying though.

We have 9 so far. We are not done, but are taking a break until the little ones are a little older.

I get really tired of people making comments. I miss when we lived in Utah and everyone smiled at us, instead of stared and made stupid comments.

Whenever I get the "lot of work" comments I respond with "yes, and a lot of joy and fun, too!"

I don't really consider myself a mom of many. Maybe a mom of quite a few.
I would love to have more but DH is done. I'm hoping to convince him of one more though.

I do love going out and about with the kids though. They are 11, 9, 6 and 2 and all look a lot alike, especially when they are all wearing the almost matching parkas that MIL sent them. And when they are lined up from tallest to shortest it is very cute.

It is also nice when people comment about how much they seem to love each other and look out for each other. They may not have all the latest toys and gagdets but they have each other and that is priceless.

I do the lining up thing every year on the first day of school. It's cool to see how they've grown in a year.

I get the same comments, and it's true, they do love each other, especially the youngest & her biggest brothers. It's so cute seeing them together.

My husband is really excited about having more too. He's pushing for 7 or 8. I'm lukewarm on the idea. #5 was quite a bit of a surprise to me, and after #4 was the first time I didn't start craving another child. I think I would have been perfectly content with 4. So, I'm interested to see how I feel after #5 makes an appearance sometime in February.
