HELP!! Ammonia smell/burning baby bottom

OK! I've been dealing with my diapers smelling like ammonia and burning my babies bottom for about 5 or 6 weeks. I've got on here and read about different things and have tried many but they are not completely working. I'm ready to give up cloth because it's such a pain. First, the type of diapers I have...prefolds and covers, fuzzi bunz with hemp inserts and bumgenius. Here's what I've done to combat the problem. Oh, it's not a soap build up problem because I was using Charlies and have switched to try something different but there aren't any bubbles in the wash.

Washing about 20 times after turning the hot water heater up.
Vinegar
baking soda
borax
got some bac-out to spray on the diapers
as a last resort I've used bleach which seems to have worked the best

He can wear the diapers during the day and not have too many problems but I can not put him in a cloth diaper overnight it's too long and the ammonia starts to burn him.

I need some tried and true suggestions from anyone who has had this problem before. It did not start until he was about 9 months and now I can't get rid of it.

HElP, I'm desperate. Thanks in advance to all you mamas.

It may be something to do with your water, if it's hard. Have you tried adding calgon to the wash? That works well. A good way I've found to get rid of ammonia crystals is to pour a BUNCH of vinegar over the diapers in the washer, then add a couple full scoops of oxyclean, agitate for a couple min then let soak overnight. In the a.m. do your reg. wash routine, but rinse A LOT! And, you can always add another rinse to your routine. GL mama, hang in there
