baby doesn't mind wetting trainers

is this normal? I always thought that switching to training pants was supposed to help with EC because the baby would feel more wet and not like the feeling. But my baby doesn't seem to mind it, he doesn't cry after he pees like I expected him to. he was in cloth diapers until now and I always changed him after every pee, so I didn't think he was too used to the feeling of being wet, but maybe he is?

unless the CD's you were using before were pockets or something else with a 'feel dry' compotent against babies skin, there's really not going to be any difference between what a wet CD or wet trainer would feel like, i don't think. i switched to trainers very early on, simply because i felt i didn't need the bulk and absorbency of a diaper since i changed immediately after every pee. but my LO didn't notice (or didn't seem to... she was only 4 months old at the time).

i think some kids just don't mind. my little boy (14 months) started trainers when he was six months, just purely for convenience (easier to take on and off to pee). everybody loves them, grandma, the babysitter and daddy (much easier than cloth diapers for everyone involved, including my little boy who hates lying down for changes). he still doesn't seem to really mind when he gets wet, except at night, when he will squirm and squirm and complain and complain until i get up and take him to the bathroom (or the night potty).

Some babies don't mind being wet. That's one of the benefits of non-waterproof dipes or trainers, it's easier to tell if they're wet. To answer your question, yes, it's normal.

That is very normal in our house! But that said, I think it depends on the type of trainers you're using. My daughter will wet (and rewet) a diaper (cloth or disposable) several times without complaining, but when she's wearing her gerber underwear (like real cotton underwear with a thicker waffled pad sewn in) and the pee trickles down her leg, she doesn't like that very much. So I try to keep her in those as often as I can keep a close eye on her.
