How Do I Teach The Baby..

Not to strangle the cat? We have a kitten who's about 4 months old. He almost never runs away from Fiona (18 months), though she's almost always rough with him if I don't catch her in time. She's not trying to hurt the cat, she wants to pick him up the way I do, but she grabs him around the neck and lifts him up, so he dangles.

He doesn't seem to mind, to be honest, but I don't want her to break his neck or something. She's completely immune to any sort of discipline (she laughs when I say "No!" real loud, etc). What do I do?

Thanks!

At that age the best thing you can do is micro-manage the situation so the kitten doesn't get hurt.

We have one cat that detests our 13 month old. In order for both parties to not get hurt we constantly keep them separated. We also say "gentle" whenever the two are around each other.
