Any suggestions on implementing Montessori into HS

Ds1 is in Montessori kinder this year. We have not decided whether he will return next year. I am leaning toward homeschooling him instead. He really enjoys the Montessori classroom, and feel comfortable with the set up. So I'm hoping to incorporate some of that vibe into HS.

I found this: http://www.newchildmontessori.com/index.html And it looks really doable for many ages and could be altered to work with whatever routine you want to use.

Anyone use this??

TIA!

I've never seen those, but we believe whole-heartedly in Montessori. We read:

At Home With Montessori (VERY short book, but very wonderful about how to set up your home and how you live to support the same principles conveyed through Montessori education)

And then Teach Me To Do It Myself by Maja Pitamic is used for "lessons". I own at least 5 Montessori "lesson" books, but I've chucked all but this one because it spans such a wider range of things.

Hope this helps!

I've never done much investigating into montessori, but that site looks really cool! I spent ages reading through it... thanks for keeping me up past my bedtime

I've been ogling the NCM set for a while now, too. I'd also like to know if anyone has experience using them, though, before ordering. They are kinda expensive for my homeschooling tastes, but it's nice that everything is laid out for you.

Right now we pay over $400/month for Montessori Kindergarten, and the price jumps by a LOT for next year. That's not the reason we are considering homeschooling next year - but I figure that will be money each month not going out to pay his tuition - and gives us extra money to spend on setting up a neat classroom area in the house, and supplies, and curriculum.

I am still hoping to run across someone with experience using the NCM curriculum to hear some real insight on it. In the meantime, I think I may order just the Summer book, and see what I think about implementing it this Summer.

Thanks so much for the books suggestions, and advice!!
