I think Farrah had an eye opening on that episode. Hopefully she realized how neglectful she sounded as a mother when she told that guy that she had no curfew and could stay out as long as she wanted at night. He looked really disgusted in her (as he should ). She is a mom now and no mother has a night out if they have a sitter, including their parents. Even when I hire a sitter I have a specific time frame I go out and then return. Farrah is acting very irresponsible and immature. She's no longer a "teen" first but a mother first from this point on. I guess she didn't think about that when she got pregnant and thought it would be fun to have a cute baby.

Catelynn is so sweet. I swear when I see how stupid the others on the show act I feel so sorry for Catelynn and Tyler because they are the only couple on the show that seem like they would have been excellent teen parents. They are so happy with one another and don't party all night (at least on the show) and aren't selfish at all. The retreat Catelynn went on looked good.

I am wondering thought how Catelynn has braces. Her family didn't seem like they were very stable and her mother didn't have a job did she? I just thought it was odd.

I only saw the last 15 minutes last night- I have the rest DVRed. I was thrilled for Catelyn. She seems much more at peace and now and Ty is so supportive of her. As far as the braces, there are many dental schools that do that for free (I know I went to one when I was young and my mom had zero extra money for things like that). As mature as Catelyn is, I would not be suprised if she took it upon herself to seek out treatment. I am sure she would qualify for whatever type of aid is available. Also, if she is truly as level-headed and sweet as she is on the show, I can imagine there are adults in her life (teachers, parents of friends) who help point her in the direction of things available.

I thought the interaction between Farrah and her mother last night was probably the most mature I have seen between the two of them. I hope she can get her act together.

Gary does seem to be trying. Hopefully they can make it. I think Amber needs a teen mom group, etc, so she can get some emotional support. She also needs to realize she is lucky to have a father for her baby that does what he does. I am not saying he is perfect, but so many young fathers totally opt out.

I thought Gary did great this week. I actually think it is incredible how Amber does not seem to have a clue about how blessed she is to have Gary. Granted, he is not perfect, but no one is. Wow..I hope they can keep working on things.

I think Tyler is just beyond fantastic. He is so patient and kind. And I was really glad that the support group was able to help Catelynn and also help her to see that it probably is really hard for the adoptive parents to want to forge that relationship with the birth parents. I am guessing somewhere deep down, the adoptive parents are probably scared to death that Tyler and Catelynn will get married and try to get Carly back one day. I do really hope they stay together and have more kids later on. At any rate, they impress me every week.

I hope Ryan wakes up. I really would love to see he and Maci make it work but I think he's got a long way to go.

I am totally addicted to this show..but I cry every week!

wake up being the kay words... The boy is always laying around on a bed or couch or zoning out when Maci talks to him. Lord I hope she doesn't marry him. I've known men like that and most don't change.

I usually can't stand anything on MTV, but for some reason I can't stop watching this show!

I agree with a lot of the things everyone has said.

I can't stand Farrah. She seems so shallow to me, and the way she talks (her mom too!) grates on my nerves. I do feel sorry for her though, it seems as if her family is enabling her and has created a lot of her issues. One sweet thing I noticed--did you all catch at the very end of a recent episode how they showed a quick shot of Farrah's mom snuggling the baby in her bed with the lights out? If nothing else is going well for that poor baby, at least it seems like she's always being held and snuggled.

Amber drives me crazy the way she is *never* satisfied. I hope she finds some support from someone. It's sad that she seems to have no where else to go, no mom or dad to be there for her. Gary at least seems very genuine. He brought her a nice dinner and sat down and told her how much he cared about their little family and their relationship! If my DH did that during a rough patch I would be flabbergasted.

Maci seems like she is/will be a good mom. Her boyfriend makes me so angry. I think his parents are encouraging him to stay with Maci, and maybe they are just now fully realizing how crappy of a father and boyfriend he really is. I wonder if they watch the show and see him out partying while Maci lays in bed. He really needs to grow up!

Catelynn and Tyler are my favorite couple. The episode when she had her baby was so heartbreaking and brave at the same time. I sobbed through it. I don't think I could stand to watch it again.

Their parents are terrible. It was so sad how her mom didn't even seem to care that they were moving 40 miles away without her. I have also thought they looked high or wasted during some of the episodes. Do they have a younger child too? I thought I saw kid items sitting around in the moving episode. I don't think her parents look tired, I think they look like they use meth or pain pills, or they have heavily in the recent past. I'm glad Tyler's mom seems "normal" and stable so that they have somewhere to go.

i am glad that ryan and maci went to counseling, but i sure hope it's not just a one time thing! it doesn't look too good for them.

i hope farrah had an eye opening also. she is incredibly rude to her parents who support her and raise her baby - granted they are enabling her but it must be a tough place for them to be also. can you imagine if farrah were your dd and you knew that if you were not caring for and loving that baby then she would be raised by a string of babysitters? it would be a tough choice.

Yes, I think Catelynn has a younger, much younger, sibling who is still preschool age. Unless I am remembering that wrong? It seems like I remember her saying she raised them pretty much. ?? I also bawled when she had her baby! I also agree that the parents do look like they have been on something in the recent past. I hope Catelynn's younger sibling (if I am rembering that right) is ok.

I feel like this show just sucks me in somehow..I can't stop watching!

yep catelynn has a preschool aged brother. and she did mention helping raise him. the scenes from next week with Tyler's dad look interesting.

Although I did notice in the last episode at Tyler's mom's house that they had lots of younger kids toys as well.

I think Amber needs to swap boyfriends with Maci and then see how much better she has it.

So if Catelynn's little brother is from her mom and Tyler's dad together then that means Catelynn and Ty both have the same little brother..... right? What a strange situation, lol.

Catelynn and Tyler's parents are a perfect example of 75% of my clients. It's disheartening how they are oblivious to what effect their toxic lives have on their children. Catelynn and Tyler are amazing and if they have reached this level of maturity, kindness, and humility without the influence of "parental nurture" then they are destine and capable of doing great things in this life. I hope someone is able to bless them with a full ride to college or something to that nature.

I just wanted to add something. I am pretty sure Farrah's Baby's father didn't desert her.

In the 16 & Pregnant her mom and her decided they would do it alone. And the father tried to find out if he was the dad and she wouldn't tell him.

You never find out if it was a healthy realtionship or not. And I believe the only reason why the father has never tried to be in the picture (however it was just something I had heard) was that he died in a car accident while she was pregnant.

Again just rumors but we don't actually know that story.

And I have a feeling that Catelynns little brother is not Tylers also. I think that the parents got together AFTER that point...

Maci is the most mature one of them all and has taken parenting seriously. I like her the most. I wish Ryan would straighten up.

Farrah is rude and her sense of entitlement issues are annoying. Why does she call her father Michael. Is that her step-dad?

there's only one other teen mom that didn't go on to the show Teen Mom, atleast I think so. I can't remember her name but that's the only one I remember from the 16 and Pregnant shows that didn't go on to the next show.

Wait. Farrah's family lives in Michigan..so her baby's daddy lived in Nebraska? That's pretty long distance. I admittedly never saw the 16 and Pregnant with her on it though. Did they move? I am just not sure this would be the dad. Although it totally would not surprise me if her mom decided to cut whoever the dad was out of their lives.

Also, there were two other girls, Whitney and Ebony, who did not make it onto the show.

I think Farrah lives in Iowa. Catelynn is from Michigan I think.
I got the impression from 16 & Pregnant that Farrah's mom didn't want Sophia's dad to be in the picture at all though.
I just continue to have my mind blown in all kinds of ways from this show. I'd think it would be good for Farrah to get away from her parents for a bunch of reasons. I think she needs to get a reality check and not have free childcare every time she wants to go out. Her parents give her a hard time for going out all the time, but they are the ones enabling her to be able to go out in the first place. They're also just emotionally abusive and it would be good for her to get away from that. I really liked her "date" that called it like it was and gave her a hard time for being doing whatever she wants and just leaving Sophia till whatever hour of the night. Like a PP mentioned, if she should at least have to courtesy to make it back at a certain hour like she'd have to do if she had a regular babysitter.
Amber drives me batty. I'm totally amused by her friend that has visited her in the last two episodes. I busted out laughing when they had to subtitle her friend's slurred words. I still haven't figured out why Gary is such an awful person. Yeah, he's messy and he should probably think stuff through a little more, but he always seems to take responsibility for his stupid actions and then takes steps to correct what he's done. Overall, he seems like a good guy and I think Amber is lucky to have him in her life. I hope she can realize that and that they can work out their differences.
I still totally love Catelynn & Tyler. I agree that they should both get a free ride to college. I wish all the best for them both.
