In the beginning of the year my dentist (whom I like) told me I needed a scaling on my teeth. Not right away but eventually he said I should have it done. At the time we had great dental insurance but they wouldn't pay for a part of the procedure which was much mroe than we could afford. Now that we have new insurance I think they will pay for the procedure. My old dentist who I feel comfortable with doesn't accept the insurance. Anyway, long story short. Has anyone had this procedure done? I've heard there is sensitivity after the first few days but what about after? Are there any long term effects from having the scaling done or just soreness after? Isn't there some way to improve gum health without having this done?
