Afternoon all. I decided to join this forum as I am planning VBAC #8 and in the process of changing care providers happened upon the Mothering forums.
I am passionate about VBAC (obviously) and love to encourage women in the VBAC journey including comforting them when things don't turn out as they wish.
I had my C-section in 1993 and first VBAC in 1994. My last baby was born in 5-08 and I am due with #9 in June, 2010. My children range from 16-1 and are 4 girls and 4 boys.
I have experienced the gamut of VBAC's from heavily interventive including multiple inductions including one for pre-e (#7) to dreamy spontaneous, un-messed with labors and births and everything in between.
I usually suffer from hyperemesis but this time I have it under control and have needed no IV's which is absolutely thrilling and giving me hope that the PIH/Pre-e will stay away this time.
I am in the process of changing care providers after a very unfortunate incident on Monday. I am interviewing some CNM's next Wednesday and hopefully they will feel comfortable taking on my care.
it is a real shame because I know that if it weren't for the OB I am leaving (not really leaving him but his partner-he is unavavilable for this pregnancy/birth due to deployment) I would have had C-sections with the last two. Please tell me the odds of a doctor willing to induce a VBAC with pressures of 180/110 and spilling protein like crazy?? Mag is miserable. Mag + pit is hell. Still managed an unmedicated VBAC thanks to a trusting OB and two great doulas.
But after being left in an exam room while the staff and doctor went home for the night without ever being seen is unconscionable and I'm finding another provider.

) but all it will take is a stubborn person demanding proof of what I say.
