Experienced VBAC momma

Afternoon all. I decided to join this forum as I am planning VBAC #8 and in the process of changing care providers happened upon the Mothering forums.
I am passionate about VBAC (obviously) and love to encourage women in the VBAC journey including comforting them when things don't turn out as they wish.
I had my C-section in 1993 and first VBAC in 1994. My last baby was born in 5-08 and I am due with #9 in June, 2010. My children range from 16-1 and are 4 girls and 4 boys.
I have experienced the gamut of VBAC's from heavily interventive including multiple inductions including one for pre-e (#7) to dreamy spontaneous, un-messed with labors and births and everything in between.
I usually suffer from hyperemesis but this time I have it under control and have needed no IV's which is absolutely thrilling and giving me hope that the PIH/Pre-e will stay away this time.
I am in the process of changing care providers after a very unfortunate incident on Monday. I am interviewing some CNM's next Wednesday and hopefully they will feel comfortable taking on my care.

it is a real shame because I know that if it weren't for the OB I am leaving (not really leaving him but his partner-he is unavavilable for this pregnancy/birth due to deployment) I would have had C-sections with the last two. Please tell me the odds of a doctor willing to induce a VBAC with pressures of 180/110 and spilling protein like crazy?? Mag is miserable. Mag + pit is hell. Still managed an unmedicated VBAC thanks to a trusting OB and two great doulas.
But after being left in an exam room while the staff and doctor went home for the night without ever being seen is unconscionable and I'm finding another provider.

Wow mama! You rock! I love to hear this!!! While I don't plan on having but a couple more maybe, I love to hear your multiple VBAC successes! Congrats!

But yeah, don't blame you one bit for wanting to change providers! Eeeek!

Wishing you a very pleasant pregnancy and another successful VBAC that's just perfect!

whoo! You have me beat! My record is 5 VBACs, aiming for #6 in the future!

Good Luck with the change. I'm sure with your experience, you will find a good care provider.

I wish I had advice to offer. I am certainly not as experienced as you, but I DO think you can get your VBAC. You certainly are a good candidate having had several VBACs already. I would ask the Texas tribe, ICAN and other places (as you probably know) for VBAC resources/friendly practioners. Good luck.

I know who the VBAC-friendly providers are. Unfortunately, 2 of the 5 or so in SA are in the group I am leaving. The possible hang-up is I need someone willing to induce a VBAC as I have a very real possibility of PIH/Pre-E hanging over my head-had it with the last two and while I am hoping my improved first tri nutrition since my HG isn't bad, will help, I need to be prepared. I also have no records for my first three births due to an archive company losing them when my third providers practice broke up. I have no proof of the kind of original incision or that babies #2 and #3 were VBAC's. I could probably get my surgical report from the hospital I had my C-section in, but real records from that doc (retired) and subsequent docs would be hard since it has been so many years.
I've had my 8 babies, in 8 different hospitals, in 5 states with 6 different providers. Continuity of care is a definite hurdle for me.
I have had no trouble with providers believing the history I give them (it is so crazy it couldn't be made up ) but all it will take is a stubborn person demanding proof of what I say.
I'm meeting with the Lonestar midwives on Wednesday who have absolutely GLOWING reviews and references. We'll see if they will take me on.
