Needing To Vent

Ok, as most of you guys know my son has been really sick these past 2 weeks. Well, While I was in the hospital with him, my so called "friend" Came into my home, stole all my Cloth Diapers, all the things I had for my cloth diapers, A lot of my sons clothes. The only thing she didn't take was what I had packed in my diaper bag. I know it is partially my fault cause I should have noticed when I got home but I was so tired that I didn't notice it till the next morning. By then, she was already on a plane back home to WN for the holidays. She says she didn't take them. But my 4 year old knows what my diaper box looks like and she told me that she took it along with a black bag. (my black suitcase is gone) She says my 4 yr old is stupid and don't know what she is talking about. Her son is 3 months and mine is 8 months. Why jack clothes that you child won't be able to wear for months? Now my son is doing with out warm clothes and Cloth diapers because she wanted them for her son and nefew. My son is getting a couple outfits for Christmas, but 4 out fits isn't much. The only reason why she was in my home is to watch my 3 and 4 yr old girls so they wouldn't have to sit in a hospital room with me and my son.

I feel so angry. Not just at her but at myself. How could I have not dbl checked before she left? Why did I have to go to sleep shortly after I got back home? 4 cloth diapers aren't enough to last him even half a day so I am washing clothes 3 times a day just for him to have something to wear. It royally sucks. (

Does anyone have any ideas how to make 4 diapers go farther?

Of course it's not your fault! It's your friend's fault for being a thief. Please don't beat yourself up. As far as how to make 4 diapers last, well, sounds like you'll be doing laundry a lot....If you have any money at all, 100% Gerber prefolds OR automotive cotton towels from Target will work in a pinch.

Don't blame yourself! If a person is a friend, you shouldn't have to worry about checking to make sure they didn't steal anything! Ridiculous! I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.

You can also use receiving blankets or t-shirts! You could use hand towels in a pinch.

If you can sew at all (or know someone who does) you can make your own...

Good luck!

Will you be able to get them back? You could always get a good set of prefolds and covers for a cheap price, like on Little Lions site. I think it would be under 100 for 24 or 20 for 12 prefolds or something like that depending on the size. Flats were even cheaper. I hope you get your diapers back, that is so unfair but it wasn't your fault at all. There is always the econobum, I heard it works pretty good, some love it some just say it works but aren't a big fan.

That is really terrible!

When I've been in a pinch (DH totally forgot the bag with the diapers in it last time we went on a trip) I have gotten a pack of the microfiber towels from the automotive section in WalMart, and used them as doublers inside a t-shirt diaper (one of DH's shirts, cut in half front and back) like Michigan Mama posted. I found that a lot trimmer and easier to pin on a small baby (DD is older than your DS but really skinny) than the full t-shirt. I didn't use a cover at all, just changed regularly and washed every day, and I didn't have any problems with leakage. They held a lot!

Don't blame yourself for one. second. longer. You should not have to check if a friend has stolen something when they leave your house (I hope said friend is off your friend list btw).

Hope you are all feeling better soon.

I would highly recommend that you get some Little Lions flats!
They are awesome. Those and a couple of covers should honestly be enough to get you by. As far as clothing if you hit up the Goodwill or another thrift store you might score some really great stuff. I found items there for $.69 before. Here's another idea but I don't know if it's feasible, could you return the outfits that you got for your DS for Christmas and use the money at the thrift store? Or shop the clearance section or after-Christmas sales? Just some ideas that might spark an answer for you.

I'm sorry about your "friend". Thankfully your children are okay.

Ok I got some old prefolds someone was getting rid of (she thought they were burp cloths) Does anyone know how to fold them so they won't sag around the genital area? I suck at prefolds lol.
