My daughter is almost 10 months old, co-sleeping, breastfeeding and has never slept through the night. When she was really young, she was extremely fussy (maybe colic)and constantly needed to move/bounce...etc. Nights werent so bad though because she would just wake a few times, nurse and fall back asleep. It became easier @ 4 months or so. Lately it's become much more of a struggle, she wakes up crying and thrashes around battling falling back asleep only to wake up 45 minutes later. If we get up with her, she stops fussing entirely and wants to play. She started taking a pacifier @ 6 months which helped with the all night nursings, but now when she wakes up and its gone, she screams. She has also always been super gassy at night. She wakes up fussing and usually has to fart... She has been doing well with solids, however will only eat things she can feed herself which means shes not getting as much in as she would with pureed food. Daytime nursings have also been a struggle as she only nurses laying down in our dark bedroom before naps (too distracted otherwise)
She is an absolute joy in the daytime... Naps twice a day and generally does well falling asleep. She goes to bed @ 7.
My husband leaves for work @ 6 and is gone till late in the evening, so im on my own for the day. We are struggling financially, so I might be taking in another child, so I need to help ease the exhaustion.
We are both so sleep deprived. My husband is at wits end and wants to put her in her own room let her cio which I don't want to do. We have the crib side-carred for extra room but shes like a heat seeking missile and barely sleeps at all when shes not snuggled against me or on my chest.
Both our widwife and lactation consultant think shes either hungry or just waking from habit b/c she knows we will respond. Weve tried feeding her extra food before bed so i dont think hunger is the issue. I know there are a ton of posts like this, but Im at such a loss any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
