Swing recommendations

I realize this is kind of the wrong crowd to be asking but I don't have anywhere else to find recommendations

I am looking for an AC powered swing as I really don't want to have to deal with replacing batteries all the time. Anyone have suggestions aside from just the Power Plus, as it seems to not be suitable for a newborn...
Thanks!

We have a power plus swing from FP. DD1 HATED that sucker, but then again, she hated alllllll swings. DD2 has lived in this swing since she was 2 weeks old. She LOVES the swing.
I know you wanted other ideas but I thought I'd share my experience.

Not exactly the info you were looking for, but we have a Kanoe baby hammock for our baby (now 5.5 months old), and we love it. Really, really love it.

HTH!

we used Graco's "lovin hug" swing -- it has a variety of classical music and swing speeds, and plugged in -- never had to use batteries. She loved it, and at 8 months naps in it still.

We have a FP Zen swing. I love it. We got it when DS was 2 months old and I'm so glad we did. The seat can change position from front to back to side to side and it reclines. Plus the seat comes off so you can take it with you to another room and it takes batteries or plugs in so you have even more options.

I also had the Graco Lovin Hug swing which plugged in. I loved that I didn't have to use batteries BUT sometimes the swing would stop swinging. I could hear the motor going but the swing wouldn't move. If I gave it a push it would usually start up again... but not always. Maybe I just got a defective one.

We have this one too. My only small complaint is that the mobile is sort of boring and doesn't move on its own. But otherwise it is great! (and it is in "grown-up" colors, so it blends in well with the rest of our decor)

Oh man, wish I would have thought about an AC powered swing. We only went though 2 sets (of 4) batteries, but those things arent cheap!

I just invested in rechargeable batteries (and had to get a new charger capable of holding size D batts). I bought the swing used (FP nature's cradle or something) and sold it for the same price I bought it... and I still have my rechargeable batteries for use in other things so I'm calling it free!

We have the Fisher-Price Papasan swing, that goes forward to back and side to side. We've always used it plugged in, which is so nice. It is okay to use it with a newborn if you have them swing side to side. My son never cared for it when he was tiny, but started using it around 2 months old and last until about 8 months or so. That was when I decided he shouldn't be napping in it anymore! The weight limit is 25 pounds I think, so techinically my 20 month old son could still be in there! Yikes.

I researched swings a lot when I was looking for mine and this one had some of the best reviews and I love it: http://www.walmart.com/Fisher-Price-...kle/ip/5430278. I highly recommend it. Not all papasan swings have ac, but this one does, plus it works great for both boys and girls. Good luck picking the right one for you! =)

oh wow.. I'm not sure what the weight limitation are on the one we had but my son outgrew it by 5 months (he's 19lbs now) because of his constant reaching and ending up hanging off the edge. I never had one with my first and only bought it with the 2nd to buy time with my first!
