My son did not take his first steps until he was 17 months old and then basically refused to walk until he was about 19 months old. He was just really, really cautious. Up until that point he just scooted on his butt everywhere and it seemed to get him wherever he needed to go!

Out of 30+ grandchildren in our huge family, he was by FAR the latest walker.

My dd didn't stand up until about 14 or 15 mths and didn't walk until 16 months. She also never crawled, she would scoot around on her butt We worked with a PT for a couple of months but I really think she would have done it on her own in the same amount of time.
