Tandem nursing Q

I weaned my oldest at a year. Mostly I was going crazy over being bit and gnawed on. She will be 20 months when baby brother is due. This whole pregnancy I have wanted to pick her up and nurse her, but haven't because she is "weaned". But I was thinking that when Baby Brother is born she might want to start nursing again.
Has anyone had this happen? I think I would actually be excited to have them both nursing. DH is on board so it isn't as if I would have to convince him that it is ok. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with family members/friends comments or opinions if I do this???

Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience

Maybe if I put it this way. Has anyone re-started their toddler nursing when they have had a second baby???

Not fully, but I weaned my oldest two when I was pregnant with the third and dd who was just two wasn't really ready. She nursed a handful of times after the baby was born.

I have heard from most of my friends/family members that the older child does not usually start nursing again. My cousin had weaned at about 15 months then when her sister was born she asked one time to nurse. When my aunt put her in her lap, she had no idea what to do! Not saying that is always the case, but probably the most likely.

As for the family members, I think they eventually get over it! My MIL has never seen anyone (or heard of anyone breastfeeding) excpet for me. She asked me a couple of weeks ago if DD was still nursing... when I told her yes, she said "that must be her snuggel time"! I was shocked! She sounded sincere
