Success! (And a question)

So I finally got comfortable enough wearing my son in my stretchy wrap to venture out in public. We spent a very cozy five hours at the mall getting all our Christmas shopping done. My back didn't hurt, and my son was happy the entire time! Hoorah! I wore him facing out front because it's the only way he really likes to ride.

My question is - when Rowan fell asleep in the wrap, his head hung down really low. His chin was resting on his chest. I kept trying to hold his head up and keep it somehow, but it wasn't working.Thinking back, I probably could have taken him out and put him tummy to tummy, he might have been tired enough to let me. What do you do when your baby falls asleep like this? I just kept waking him up...

That's the problem with the FFO position....it really is impossible to provide head support when they fall asleep. I think all you can do is try to pop them up and out and slide them back in tummy to tummy without waking them up all the way, but it can be a challenge. OTOH, if he can actually sleep with his head bobbing around, he may be sleepy enough to stay asleep during repositioning!
