My little acrobat

My DD is 9 months old, and boy, she does not take nursing lying down. I remember going through this with DS and it was NEVER ENDING. I remember one time him nursing the left side with his foot on my left ear.

DD's new favorite is trying to climb her feet over the top of me while she's nursing lying down. I guess I'm lucky that my nipples are handling all of this.

What are your LOs favorite positions? Do you discourage it? When do you start teaching nursing manners? I think DS was about 15-18mo when I started insisting that he not climb all over me while nursing.

Ha, ha. I posted about this not too long ago. DS has now calmed down somewhat. On the right side he nurses laying on top of me and on the left he'll sit right beside me.

But before he'd balance himself standing on one of my legs and lean over, wobbling and all. Then he'd do the nurse one minute, stop and get off to play, lather-rinse-repeat. Too funny.

DD is 8 months old and desperately wants to breastfeed in positions that are physically impossible. Like, she wants to nurse with her back against my stomach...I don't think that one's going to work!

It's pretty funny...she'll latch on and then start slowly rotating towards her preferred impossible position. But then when she gets to the point that she can't stay latched, she gets mad!

DD is doing the same thing. Last night she was practicing on being a windmill . She'd literally turn around in circles climbing all over giggling throughout the entire process (especially when she was kicking me in the face ). I'm just kind of letting her do her think at this point but not encouraging it (as in I was trying not to laugh when she was giggling hysterically while climbing on my face.).
