Should I restart toddler after LO is born?

I had to wean DS rather abruptly when he was about 22 months. I think I lost my supply around my fifth month of pregnancy when I also had a bad stomach bug that left me dehydrated. I tried to keep going, but the pain was just too much. DS nursing had already been hurting for months, and it got that much worse overnight.

Anyway, I know he misses it. He likes to fondle my nipples and put his hand down my shirt. I don't encourage it, but sometimes I let it go, like if he's sleepy and drifting off. I was just wondering if it's worth trying to restart him on nursing after the new baby is born, or if it's worth pumping extra milk to give him, or what? Or should I just accept that it's over for him?

I think I would let him decide. If he is interested after the baby comes let him try and if it goes beyond that let him control it (to a point of course). He may just be curious but he may not be interested at all I would just follow his lead.

I wouldn't suggest or say anything or actively encourage him, but if he shows interest and asks then certainly welcome him back to trying. Sometimes they forget how to latch, it happened with my oldest son, I lost my milk while pregnant with my youngest.

He began nursing again after his brother was born but it took a while to get the hang of it again.

good luck!
