Lost Season 4 question

Ok I'm totally lost ( no pun intended). The flashes forward...what the heck is going on? They haven't been rescued yet so what are they trying to set up here? I'm on episode 4 right now and had totally forgotten they were doing the "in the future after the island" angle at first.

It's one of those things that you just have to keep watching and then things start to come together. Without spoiling it just gets crazier. I can't wait for a new season...I think I've already forgotten how the last one ended. Maybe someone else has a good explanation for how to better understand all that "time" stuff.

Oh I don't care if it's "spoiled". I'm only watching it to pass the time between House episodes while I knit.

Anyone? Are the future blips what is going to happen or are they more of a what could happen? I'm not talking about the weird thing going on with Desmond. I really don't care if being told "spoils" it for me. It's beginning to bug me though. Desmond and Micheal (blah that they brought him back) are making sense but Kate's and Sun's etc. are not.

Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
They are eventually rescued. The flash forwards sort of fill you in on what they are doing after the rescue. It's like the flashbacks, only in reverse. It's sort of backward story telling... I guess. I hope that answers your question.

I really liked the concept of the flash forwards.

Same here. Dh and I were just discussing how we don't really remember last seasons ending, it as the most jam-packed, too much info to take in, but so exciting anyway.

Marlet, you had better hurry up before the next season starts. I was totally confused and still am.
