Advice/Ideas please

I've found this group to be especially knowledgeable in health matters, and maybe you all can help. If so, please advise -

My nephew (3.5 yo) has been potty trained for some time but has been having lots of accidents lately. When he went to the doctor, he was found to have no UTI but blood in his urine. He claims to have no pain. He had some other preliminary tests, which were negative. He has an appointment with a nephrologist, but until then - any one have any ideas?

Is there some specific reason that you suspect a physical problem? My DD1 had lots of setbacks in her potty learning, between age 3 and 4. She would go through phases of having lots of accidents, and then she'd stop. It was just behavioral-- she would get distracted and forget, or she'd be too absorbed in something to go, and there was also a long phase where she was feeling rebellious and was refusing to go because I was making too big an issue out of it.

She did mention blood in the urine I believe...

Has he been on any medication lately or had a vaccine, flu shot?
