frustrated non sitter

My DD is 6.5mths, she's still quite a long way from sitting, she needs either huge amounts of propping or a careful arrangement of the person holding her, I'm sitting cross legged right now with her sat in the space that makes, my arms are on either side so she bounces off them as she moves around, her newly discovered favourite toy is between her and the laptop!

I'm not at all concerned as my other kids have been late sitters too, I think it's just how we grow them! But it is getting frustrating for both of us, I cannot leave her alone sitting, but she is instantly grumpy lieing down, I used to be able to put her down with toys on either side and even manage a quick shower!

The exersaucer is also making her cross most of the time too, she wants to sit and she wants her stacking rings stacked!

I guess this is what bumbos were invented for! But at 6.5mths with my last kid I'm not buying one! DH wears her a lot, I have a dodgy hip so have limited tolerance for wearing her so I save it for out of the home, besides that wouldn't help with the as yet unachieved task of getting dressed preferably with a shower! It's 11am, she's switched to nursing, so maybe she'll have a doze soon. Thank goodness it's a preschool day, otherwise I'd be feeling seriously guilty about DD playing alone and getting dressed would be even further away!

It may not help, but there is something similar to a bumbo that my MIL got us for the coming holidays... it's from Target and it's a 3 in 1 type seat. It acts like a bumbo infant seat (with an attachable/removable play tray) that converts to a regular booster seat. We wont be using it for a while (ds is only 4mo) but I like the portable booster aspect since it provides longer benefit from the gizmo.

ooh, that's interesting, ironically I was in Target yesterday, I don't go often, I might see if I can find it on their website so I can figure out if it is something we would use, rather than making a special trip.
