How many times a day do you feed your Raw fed Dog?(

Right now, Dash is a little over a yr old and eats once a day. He eats around 1-2lbs of food a day(+whatever cat food he steals) and I usually just give it to him in one big meal.

Is that bad? Should I break it up or is that just a personal preference?

Thanks

I feed my dogs once a day. I think it's better than twice a day because it means a bigger meal, more chewing, better dental scrubbing, etc. The only reason I'd split it is if he's got an extremely sensitive tummy and isn't handling the one meal well now. I think from what you've described you're just fine!

Our last vet recommended feeding once a day ... but our current vet (we moved to a different province) recommends twice a day. Both are strong supporters of raw diets for dogs. After feeding once a day for a few years, I've gone back to feeding twice a day now.

For years I fed 1x a day. When I got the new puppy, she was eating 3x a day so I fed Marley 2x a day. Now they are both at 2x a day and it works pretty well for us. I am cuttig Marley back a little so the 2 feedings seem to help him not feel so hungry. The pup is a great dane and I prefer to keep feeding smaller for bloat concerns, and she is fairly picky and dainty about eating, so one large meal tends to be too much for her.

We're feeding our dogs twice a day.. umm, I don't see any bad effects though.
