Fever only in the evening

For the second evening in a row, DS has a fever of 102.5F. I took him to the pedi this AM and he had a temp of 99.7 and the pedi said there is nothing wrong with him. He's cranky and lethargic when he has the fever and is slightly congested.

Any ideas?

I don't remember it was a year ago. I just remember it because it was wierd, only getting a fever when you lay down. I'd never heard of that before.

And teething is so wierd because one set of teeth he acts one way and has this set of symptoms. And the next set the syptoms manifest differently.

And he always seems to do the growth spurts and the teething at the same time to get the pain and misery out the way all at once.

I was suggesting the hylands kids kit. It's herbal tablets. Super mild. It's naturopathy so if you are wrong about the symptoms the pills don't hurt anything, they just don't work. It's because they are so super mild. I was going to pm you this, but I'll post it so someone who understands naturopathy better than me can tell you about it. But sometimes with a fever they puke up Tylenol. It can't break their fever if they can't keep it down. But they can take the hylands kids kit pills when nothing else works. And it has worked many times for us.

In fact I'm going to cross post this on health and healing, so go look there for more info. I'll label it hylands.

Nevermind. I just looked at health and healing. It's all locked up. Can't ask there then.

Ok. I don't want to tell you to go try naturopathic remedies because who am I? But I want you to know that the Hylands Kids Kit has been so helpful to us for two years now. There's other companies. Just google homeopathic remedies. I think one company's actually called 1-800-homeopathy. I haven't bought anything from them before, but they keep sending me a catalog.

Thanks. We have Hylands. They haven't really worked with teething but I'll try them for the fever.

Not sure if it would be the same in an infant, but.... when I get a fever only in the evenings like you describe it is because I have a mild infection of some sort and I haven't gotten enough rest during the day. That may not be much help. You mention teething which can also cause fevers. So maybe your baby just needs more rest while teething? If the pedi didn't see any cause for infection just keep a close eye to be sure the symptoms don't worsen.
Hopefully someone else will offer more.
