How does toddler eating develop?

My 19 month old has 4 molars and can eat 75% of the food the adults eat. At what point can he handle carrot sticks or broccoli?

He still has problems chewing most veggies that aren't what I consider overcooked, so he really only gets veggies in soups and stews, or veggies that are good very soft like winter squash and potatoes.

How will this change over the next year or two?

DS is 17 mo. He's been BLW from his 6 mo,so he eats table food since he started eats solids. He eats raw carrots, whole apples, brocoli. In the early days he didn't like pures food, just recently (couples months) he has some appetite for it.
He also eat all kind of meat, some of the hardest one he likes chew the for a while, taking of the juice off the meat. That is how he learn and "train' his bites.

They gets better!
