We don't routinely cosleep, for a lot of reasons, but the main one being medications that I take. DD is now 6.5mths and the last couple of weeks she's unintentionally spent most of the night in our bed, she's either woken up not long after her prebed nursing, or fussed, so I've picked her up and fallen asleep with her. My question is about what age certain safety issues become less crucial.
I feel fairly confident that I'm no deeper asleep or less aware of what is going on than DH is without meds, whether she's in the bed or not I wake up well before him at any disturbance.
I feel she's vastly different to a newborn and thus much safer than a younger baby in a less than perfect cosleeping situation.
DH usually comes to bed after me and DD get to this point, so he could always move her, but I think he's rather happy about the situation, so he doesn't move her.
