How do I keep my Woodstove from Rusting?

I have a cast iron woodstove that we use part-time for heating. What's a non-toxic/green way to keep it from rusting?

Thanks!

It's kept indoors, right? I really don't know the "right" answer for this, since I've never even had one, but I do have many cast iron pots/pans and the key to keeping them from rusting is to oil them, when they are completely dry. If it is kept indoors, which I assume it is, you should really only have to worry about atmospheric moisture in your house, right? You can rub some veggie oil on it every now and then, because you know, oil and water don't mix. Other than that, I have no idea, but since no one else has replied...
or else maybe you could paint it with rustoleum??? or something similar??

I've used stove blacking which has been around for ages....that's what my great-grandma always used. I have NO IDEA if it's toxic though. Normally I don't use anything because I run my cookstove every day so it's a non-issue.

I have a heat stove that is cast and that's used 4-6 months a year and it's never needed anything and doesn't rust.

I second the pp though I would use cooking oil if/when needed as long as it was used sparingly and I was prepared for burn off. I planned on doing that when I sold my last stove but ended up using the blacking since it was outside on the porch.
