Yikes! No fissures, but I'm definitely rocking a rectocele that requires meticulous bowel management. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Kellog's Bran Buds. For real. I eat a bowl (1/3c) at night and in the morning, I make sure to drink enough water and it has done wonders... MIRACLES, even for my... uh... condition.

I've experienced these too. i saw blood and thought i had af, but it wasn't. i've been taking flaxseed oil, but don't notice any difference.

me too with the rectocele...oh the joy! will try the bran buds stat! no capital letters, pumping at computer at work.

oh yes help! i'm at about the end of my rope with them. began after my first child 17 years ago and now they are back (a few years after baby #2) it rips, heals and rips again. no constipation either. researching like crazy. been taking omegas but gotta get more daily with them. would love more info...

DDC crashing
I struggled for years after dd with a fissure. Sooo painful. I finally saw a colorectal surgeon and was not a surgical candidate but he gave me a prescription for some cortisone cream with lidocaine that worked wonders for me. That and magnesium and lots of it to keep stools soft.

Lots of fruit, lots of juices (fresh veggie juice if you have a juicer) and lots of oil, especially coconut oil, seem to help me

I've been taking stool softeners, but it still feels to me like I'm birthing a food baby. I've got tucks everywhere! lol.

I have some issues...not sure if it's fissures or what. But when I was in labor, I wanted to eat a little something and my husband brought me something from the vending machine. It was a Fiber One bar. I've never had one before but it was so delicious that I bought a box weeks after the baby (when I was constipated). Now, I normally depend on natural foods or supplements and it isn't like me to buy something so processed, but they worked so well, I've been eating them ever since!

Also, something I know helped me a ton was taking those little green pills called chlorella. You can find them at a health food store. They're awesome. Some people take up to 10 a day (about a million come in a box so it's okay) but I've only had to take up to 5 a day. If I ever get to the point where I am actually scared to go, I start taking chlorella.

Natural calm lemon flavour, either in tap water or fresh OJ. Breakfast and before bed. Plus fiber or miralax in my protein shakes. All of that is sometimes enough to keep things soft and smooth.

Tucks or Prep-H Witch Hazel wipes helped. Drinking LOTS and LOTS of water kept things working well, but mine kept bleeding everytime I pooped anyways until I started massaging it with Vitamin E oil several times a day. This made all the difference in the world for me and it healed up and receded. I haven't had any problems with it for 2 months now.

DDC crashing because I have issues with fissures with every pregnancy...I was always told that healing is a two-step process.

1) Stop the constipation
2) Keep a hard scab from forming since it will just rip back open

For me that meant eating prunes, taking flax oil, and using vaseline after each BM on the area. I didn't even think of using vitamin E oil but next time I'll try that instead of the vaseline. Though the vaseline did work wonders.
