Diaper output over time

I think I read somewhere that a baby's diaper output would slow over time. That at a certain age 10-15 diaper changes per day would no longer be the norm.

Is that true? At what age?

We're getting ready to transition up to the next diaper size and I'm trying to figure out how many to buy.

TIA!

Really it depends on your child. DD is down to 8-12 diaper changes a day at 9 months, DS on the other hand didn't hit that point till around 15 months.

At 7 months, mine is still about 10-12 changes a day.

I think it might depend on your child's tolerance for wetness too... DS is 8 months and still goes through 14-15 diapers a day because at the slightest hint of wetness he gets grumpy. Seriously, the tiniest bit of pee and you'd think someone put ice in his diaper

I assume with buying the next size up, you're speaking of cloth? I'd personally say to buy slightly fewer diapers than what you use in your current size. At the very worst you'll fall short of what you need and end up doing some extra laundry/using 'sposies for a few days until you purchase the extras that you need. And at the best you'll buy just the right amount!

Both my boys were only in the 10-12 diaper change range for a really short while (like, maybe a month or two), and then dropped to 6-8 by 3 or 4 months and stayed there. But, we use bumgenius diapers exclusively and so the wetness gets wicked away till they're pretty wet...

My son is 5 months and we still go through 10-12 diapers. But I change him before a nap most of the time even though the diaper is only a little wet. I'd say get the amount you got before just in case. Each child is different.

My dd is 4mo and probably pees 6-7 times per day.. She poops every 3-6 days, so we have less diaper changes than some.

man that stinks. we go through 20 diapers a day because my ds is like your ds - we even switched to disposables. we'll change him because he is seriously unhappy about being wet (which I can understand) and not 5 inutes later he's peed again and is cranky! I was hoping he'd start.. consolidating or something but I guess not.
