Washing a wool blend jacket?

I have a wool blend jacket (60%) wool. I was just wondering if I can wash it by hand with cold water and some mild shampoo? I don't dry clean anything. Mild shrinkage is OK as it's a bit too big right now. Other than shrinkage, is there any other potential problem that I should be aware of before I dunk it in the sink?

I, sorta, did this for my wool coat too to avoid dry cleaning too and it turned out fine. Unless you're using really hot water and rubbing it a lot, you're unlikely to have any shrinking. I'd avoid totally submersing it unless you have some way to dry it quickly (like summer sun outdoors) just cause it could take a long time and might end up smelling mildewey if it takes too long.

I think I used a liquid woolwash I had, but I've also used Dr.Bronners to spot treat the coat too.
