in hospital with infected lymph nodes

Thread Starter
trying desperately to avoid them progressing to abscesses(sp?) one is possibly in the intermediate stage. is there anything that i can do along with the hospital treatment (iv abx) to help this clear up?

i'm bringing in probiotic smoothies to help replace some of what he's losing from the abx.

any advice would be appreciated.

Lots of Vitamin C. Sodium ascobate to loose stool stage.

Can you get some florastor probiotic? The antibiotics won't be able to kill it and I know it's really hard to dose probiotics three hours away from IV antibiotics. Florastor also raises the immune system and protects him from the nasties that he can get when his good bacteria dies. He can have stuff by mouth? Colostrum is good for the immune system (thinking cow here).

Until you can get some florastor use culturelle probiotic.

I would use cell salts as well as castor oil to increase and promote drainage. Castor oil is truly fantastic for lymphatic drainage. I hope you are feeling better by now though!

How do you drain with the castor oil?

You just make a pack and use it externally. If you google castor oil pack you will get a good amount of info. I just use a washcloth, soak it with castor oil and apply (pre-warmed or with a heating pad) to the affected area. It only takes an hour or so. It will stain, so watch for that!

Dd had an abscessed lymph node in her groin when she was 2. It came out of nowhere! We did oral antibiotics, IV antibiotics and finally she had it surgically drained which did the trick.

We dosed on probiotics and vitamin c for a while too. She ended up really needing the surgery.

. Not fun, but hoping your little one is better soon.
