Canadian Physician Group Releases New Position Paper on Planned Home Birth

A lot of the material in here is grossly flawed and ignores a substantial body of research, (e.g. VBAC's needing to take place in a hospital), but check out this quote:

You'll see icicles in hell the day that you see a statement like that from one of our major physician groups in the U.S. The winds of change may not be blowing yet, but I'm definitely feeling a fresh breeze out of Canada...

That's great. I do wish they were more supportive of HVACs, but in general it's really refreshing to see a sensible and evidence based approach from the medical community.

Yeah, the only "support" I have ever had from an OB/GYN regarding HB was "if you plan on a HB, don't come back here".

It's nice that someone somewhere is actually getting the support they need for their HB.
