This is all new to me, but I am inspired to start trying this!

What exactly does EC stand for, though?

Elimination Communication

Her diaper rash is cleared up! Her bottom looks the best it has for the longest in 3 months! And it has only been 4 days. She still pees in her diaper but no poop and less pee than before. She pees when she sleeps and in the middle of the night if I take her to the bathroom she cries...maybe we are still to young for that?

Iva cries when pottying isn't what she wants. Like today when I changed her and put her on the potty she cried because she didn't have to go.

It seems in the past couple weeks she's really letting me know. If she's fussing I try to nurse her. If she doesn't want milk, I try putting her on the potty and she goes! She's letting me know. Yesterday I only had to change 1 poopy diaper....she pooped about 4 other times on the potty.

glad to hear of all the successes. . .even one pee in the potty would be exciting as you said Octobermoon!
I have now bought CDs and babylegs, just need to get a little potty and we'll be ready to EC!

We have almost eliminated al ppoopy diapers. We use the bathroom sink and a little potty. I have found one position to work miracles, so I thought i would share it with you. Place baby's back against you belly, head between your breasts, place your hands on the bottom of their feet and pull the feet into their body tightly, putting them in a crouch. Then I lower her a bit so she is closer to the potty or sink. This works like magic everytime. Sophia pushes and grunts for pee or poo so I know she has to go. The pressure on her belly from her thighs when in this position I thnk helps it all along.

Got the Baby Bjorn Little Potty in the mail this week and this morning he peed in it for the first time! I was super excited. . .don't think he even knew what was going on!

I am transitioning to cloth too, so this morning I put him n a cloth diaper. A while later I heard his sounds get a little fussy so I brought the potty but he had already peed (I think the fussing was b/c he was wet), so then I waited about half an hour and then decided to put him on the potty before I noticed any fussy sounds. . .and after about 25 seconds of sitting there he peed!

So I saved one diaper. At least now I feel inspired to continue!

Good for you! Did you make a sound like Psssst or something while he peed? It has really helped my ds to have a cueing noise- now he knows when he hears it that it's time to pee. So if he does have any, he does it quickly.

I'm so excited. . .its the middle of the day now and he has done everything in the potty! After that first one, I have put him on the potty every half hour for peeing and every time he has gone within 5 seconds! And at one point he was making his grunty faces, so I put him on the potty and he pooed! That one took a little longer, probably sat there for about 5 minutes.

But its amazing how fast he cued into this. Hopefully as we get better at it he will be able to go longer than half and hour between pees. But its really cool that it works!!!

And yes, I am giving him some cues. . .although I am using words more than sounds. Seems to me that the only cue he needs though is the feel of the cold potty on his legs
