way too much milk

yeah, I know this is a nice problem to have, I've done the low supply thing too! I just can't fathom why it's happening at this stage, I understand the mechanics behind it as an early problem, but it appearing at 6 mths seems a bit bizarre, such that I can only put it down to something having changed with me, and the only thing I can think of is me starting a low dose of wellbutrin, I looked it up in hales and it mentioned the possibility of reduced milk supply, but it seems I have the opposite problem! I've been doing block nursing for a couple of days and I was already a one side per feed girl, but it actually seems to be getting worse, I soaked myself and her at our last attempt to feed, I had one jet shooting so bad when she moved her head it was at risk of hitting people at another table about 6 feet away! I'm popping out of my bras and nursing tops and what used to be sufficiently modest is now displaying a super cleavage, I'd brush all these issues off in the early days, but now I'm anxious about it, we're going out to dinner with a senior colleague of DH's, thankfully his wife is nursing their 18mth old, but I'm still stressing about it!

Hey;
Saw this and felt compelled to respond. I went through the same thing with my ds for 16 mos! At first the poor babe was drowning, it took me several weeks to figure out what was wrong (he could violently throw up immediately after feeding, literally spraying across the room, greenish stools and so much gas poor baby)
So what worked for me, as this happened every time (as in EVERY SINGLE TIME ) he would nurse extra a certain day, grow through a growth spurt, etc. was to nurse on one side for night, one side for day (just so it was easy for me to remember). While he was nursing on the one side, I would obviously let down on the other, so i usually had a small hand towel to absorb held against my boob. On really bad days I would express a bit of milk into the sink just so ds wouldn't get a huge spray of milk upon let down and sputter, vomit, etc. Cold compresses worked well for me too, but if I was home i literally spent a lot of time with warm towels on bare boobs just to let down and absorb some of the extra milk. I never had the need to express as I was with ds 24/7, but could've probably stocked a small chest freezer with all the spilt milk, lol.
