Only 1 image in signature??

I am new to the site and when I tried to create a signature with more than 1 image/smilie it said only 1 was allowed. Why then do I see so many signatures with several?

Hello!


New Members are allowed only 1 smilie in their signatures. Members are allowed 8 smilies in their signatures when they have accrued 50 posts and have been registered for 60 days. (click your name and choose view profile to see on what date you registered)
