when does drooling stop??

Ds is 13 months old and drools like a faucet. His big sis was never much of a drooler and his twin sis doesnt even wear a bib now. So, I want to know how much longer I have to follow in his tracks and mop up the pool of drool he leaves everywhere. It's so bad that the kids sometimes slip in the puddles of drool on our hardwood floors.

He hasnt cut any teeth in the last 6 months so it can't be teething right?

Yes it can be teething. My DS was a bigtime drooler for about 4 months for his first teeth then stopped. Recently the drool factory started production again and he's cutting like 5 teeth, including 3 molars. Do a good check in his mouth, I bet he's got something ready to break through.

no advice, really, DS drooled when he got teeth, and copiously, but only when he was getting them. I just wanted to comment that it's so weird how some kids drool and some don't. Seriously, DS was leaving puddles, and soaking through his clothes and bibs and all that, and DD just got 2 teeth without drooling AT ALL. Not even a little. I really thought all kids drooled with teeth, but I was wrong!

I'm not sure how much it has to do with teeth. DD had pretty much stopped drooling by the time her teeth started coming in at 8 months. But DS was a drooler, and it didn't seem to be just when he was teething. He was still drooling at 18 months. I can't remember exactly, but I think by 2 it was mostly stopped, though I think as a 2 1/2 year old he would sometimes have a tiny bit of drool on his chin.

DD was never a big drooler and past a year I don't recall her ever drooling, however our friends little guy was still drooling like mad at 2 years old whenever he was teething.

20 months and still leaving puddles here...

Interesting! Seems like a pattern here is that girls don't drool as much as boys. Do you think this is a case? BTW, my 19 mo old still drools quite a bit, although he is no longer leaving puddles on the floor! But he certainly did!
