Positive experience at Verizon

Hi, I just wanted share that I had a nice experience at Verizon nursing my kid.

We were there to upgrade our phones and about two hours into the experience (long holiday wait, very packed store), my 23 mo old wanted to nurse. I sat on one of the benches in the customer service area which was jam packed with people. While we were nursing, my customer service person was ready to help me, but when she saw us nursing she just smiled and said to take our time and to let her know when I was ready. I've NIP'd lots of places, but as my dd gets older I get a little anxious about it because it seems so out of the ordinary and i don't know how ppl with react. It was SO NICE to be treated like just a normal customer doing a normal thing. And I got some nice compliments on my almost - 2 yr olds behavior to boot.

that's awesome. It is great when nursing is just nursing. Maybe you should write a letter to thank them.

I'm glad you had a great experience! To each his own, but I'd never write a thank you letter to someone for allowing me to do what I have a legal right to do. I'd send a comment to the store about what great customer service you received, but I'll be a dickens if I'm gonna thank anyone for letting me nurse my child. LOL

Why not?

We (in general) can be pretty quick to jump down someone's throat (myself included) when someone pisses us off, but when someone puts forward an act of kindness, we ignore it and take it for granted because it's something they are supposed to do anyway?? I don't think so. A little kindness can work wonders in going both ways.

Yanno, it's my legal right to cross the street in a cross walk; even when there is no light, traffic is supposed to stop and let me by. Somehow, I always manage to put up my hand and thank the driver for stopping. There's no harm in that, and in fact, I think it's pretty nice.
