Engaging small toys for long flight - Page 2

For my daughter her favorite things were small sticker books that have a background that you can put the stickers on. They were only $1.50 a piece and she loved them. Also, she loves those doodle boards. I got her a small travel size one for our flight and she played with it a lot. I wrapped up a bunch of little toys so she could unwrap them on the flight. Of course then you have to deal with the trash. I also got her some small toy animals and one nice stuffed animal that was her special friend for the flight. I got her a toy car and a lace up toy, but she didn't care about those. And lots of snacks!

We survived our flight this morning. I think the biggest hit was letting him color on blank paper. That was a new experience for him, and he was really into it. I also found a little cosmetic bag in the dollar section at Target that I filled with interesting stuff. Foam shapes, cotton balls, q tips, pom pom balls, a plastic spoon, and a paint brush. He had fun taking things in and out, trying to scoop up the cotton and pom pom balls w/ a spoon and "painting" the tray table.

We travel frequently, both my car and plane, so I have a big bag of travel toys in my arsenal. Hopefully, something will help you out.

We flew from the US to New Zealand this year and our lifesaver was pipe-cleaners. We brought a whole bag of busy stuff but none of it really got used.

Depending on your air carrier, they might give all the kids goody bags when they board the plane. DD thought this was the coolest and played with those toys and puzzles the entire time.

Have a great trip!
